The women's national team roster for the World Championship

The Russian women's national team head coach Mikhail Chekanov has named his final roster for the 2016 IIHF World Championship in Canada. Three goaltenders, six defenders and 14 forwards have made the squad:

Goalkeepers: Nadezhda Morozova (Biryusa Krasnoyarsk), Maria Sorokina (Dynamo Saint Petersburg), Anna Prugova (Dynamo Saint Petersburg).

Defenders: Angelina Goncharenko (Tornado), Alexandra Kapustina (Agidel), Yekaterina Nikolaeva (Dynamo Saint Petersburg), Nina Pirogova (Tornado), Anna Shibanova (Agidel), Anna Schukina (Dynamo Saint Petersburg).

Forwards: Lyudmila Belyakova (New York Riverters), Tatyana Burina (Tornado), Alexandra Vafina (Calgary), Iya Gavrilova (Calgary), Yelena Dergachyova (Tornado), Fanuza Kadirova (Arktik Universitet Ukhta), Elina Mitrofanova (Agidel), Valeria Pavlova (Biryusa Krasnoyarsk), Yelena Silina (SKIF), Galina Skiba (Tornado), Yekaterina Smolentseva (Connecticut Wild), Yekaterina Smolina (Dynamo Saint Petersburg), Olga Sosnina (Agidel), Alevtina Shtaryova (Tornado).
