Russia's women will play America in the World Championship semi-final
Today, the women's Russian national team will take on the USA in the semi-finals of the 2016 IIHF World Championship in Kamloops, Canada.
After losing all group matches, Russia's women came to life in the quarter-final stage against Sweden. Despite playing against the group B winners, Russia took the game by storm and ran out impressive 4:1 winners. Olga Sosina netted two in that game, and goaltender Nadezhda Morozova made a total of 26 saves.
Having topped group A, the Americans were given a bye into the last four and were rewarded with an extra day to rest. They already have experience of playing Russia in this year's competition, as they defeated our women 8:0 a few days ago.
The USA - Russia match will begin at 01:00 Moscow time in Kamloops, Canada. Match-Igra and the Russian Ice Hockey Federation's website will broadcast the game live.
