Four Nations. Russia U20 - Finland U20 - 4:2
The under 20 Russian national team played their second match of the Four Nations tournament in the Czech Republic against Finland. This was the first game between these two sides since the dramatic World Junior Championship in January, and despite the Finns not having any players present from that particular tournament, our team were seriously pumped up.
Russia were dominant from the off, and Andrei Bannikov gave our team a first period lead. Our players were all over their opponents, and Denis Guryanov and Nikolai Chebykin extended the advantage in the second. Defenseman Yegor Rykov added a fourth in the final frame, and despite Finland getting two late markers, Russia comfortably saw the game out to win 4:2!
Our players now have one win from two games in this competition, while Finland have lost both of their fixtures. Russia will play Slovakia tomorrow.
