Interviews after Russia U18 took Belarus U20 to OT
16.05.2026
Representatives of Russia U18 gave their thoughts after taking on the under 20 Belarusian national team in Novosibirsk.
Russia U18 head coach Anton Korredor:
"We did initially struggle in the first period, but we subsequently improved and could have even scored more in the third. The key moment was the penalty which we took inside the attacking zone."
Russia U18 defenseman Denis Luzanov:
"The first period was poor from our point of view. Unfortunately, instead of scoring what would have been a decisive goal in the third stanza, we committed a foul in attack. You can never relax when playing against opponents older than you!"
Russia U18 forward Artyom Frolov:
"After the coaches told us the right things in the first break, we emerged a different team. We had plenty of desire to win after equalising. Right now, the most important thing is to rest and prepare for tomorrow!"
Russia U18 forward Ivan Ryabov:
"The Future Cup has been organised brilliantly! I'm from Novosibirsk myself, so my loved ones are attending the matches. If we look at the game as a whole, we played well and had chances to emerge victorious. It took us time, but we did take the initiative in the second period. We'll analyse our mistakes and get ready for our next match!"
