The RIHF extends its condolences

Nikita Simonyan, a true legend of Soviet football, has sadly passed away at the age of 99.
During his successful playing career, Simonyan became an Olympic champion in 1956, a four-time USSR champion, a two-time USSR Cup winner and the top scorer in Spartak Moscow's history.
Furthermore, Simonyan subsequently twice won the USSR Championship and the USSR Cup on three occasions as the head coach of Spartak, before winning both the league and cup as boss of Ararat in 1973.
Nikita served as the First Vice President of the Russian Football Union for more than three decades.
The Russian Ice Hockey Federation mourns the loss of Nikita, and extends its sincere condolences to his loved ones.
