The RIHF extends its condolences

Sadly, during a tour of the Motherland Calls monument, the rector of the Moscow State Academy of Physical Culture (MSAPC) Nikolai Chesnokov suddenly died at the age of 69.
Nikolai, a silver medalist at the 1981 USSR Track and Field Championships, actively contributed to the development of sports science, published hundreds of scientific reports, was the author of monographs, textbooks and programs in various fields, defended his doctoral dissertation, received the title of professor and became an academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. Since 2014, he was a member of the expert council of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation, and in 2023 he was appointed rector of the MSAPC. With his untimely death, Russian sports science suffered an irreparable loss.
