Reaction after Russia U17 played Belarus U18

08.02.2025
Reaction following the final match of the Future Cup for Russia U17 against the under 18 Belarusian national team.
Russia U17 head coach Pavel Kanarsky:
"Unfortunately, due to having played yesterday evening and this match taking place in the morning, we were lacking freshness today. However, after a challenging first period, we subsequently improved and created enough opportunities. We were lacking a bit of good fortune in front of goal. Our players will now return to their respective MHL clubs."
Russia U17 forward Stepan Kuryachenkov:
"Such tournaments help us become a team in the true sense of the word. Sadly, we let the coaches down because we couldn't achieve any wins. The age difference? Yes, we did feel it on the ice, but we're representing the Russian national team and are obliged to fight until the end in all of our matches."
