Participants of the 1974 Super Series attended the Russian Classic

Nine participants of the legendary 1974 Super Series between the USSR and Canada were guests of honour of the Russian Classic, an open-air VHL match which was contested between AKM and Rubin Tyumen in Tula.

50 years ago, the Soviet Union team defeated Canadian professionals in the legendary series, claiming four victories and three draws across the eight games.

Legends of domestic ice hockey and Super Series participants Vladislav Tretiak, Boris Mikhailov, Vyacheslav Anisin, Alexander Volchkov, Sergei Kotov, Yury Lebedev, Vladimir Popov, Yury Fyodorov and Viktor Shalimov were all present for the game at the Arsenal Stadium.

The veterans held an autograph session for young players from local youth sports schools and participated in the game's opening ceremony. A gala dinner was also organised in honour of the 1974 Super Series participants.
