Western Russia won the III Vladimir Yurzinov Student Hockey League Cup

Between the 25th and 28th of November, the Iceberg Arena in Sochi hosted the matches of the III Vladimir Yurzinov Student Hockey League Cup.
Eight teams participated in the tournament which was organised with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Russian Ice Hockey Federation and the Administration of the Sirius Federal Territory.
The current holder of the challenge cup, the Western Russia team from Kaliningrad, managed to retain the trophy. In the final of the tournament, the Kaliningrad-based team defeated Derzhava Tambov.
Politekhnik Chelyabinsk claimed the bronze medal thanks to a 7:2 win against the South Ural State University in the third place playoff.
