RIHF cooperation with ice hockey academies
The emergence of ice hockey academies in our country as a place for concentrating educational resources, innovations and sporting technologies was a logical step in solving the problems of increasing the efficiency of coaching young players.
Today there are dozens of academies, the best of which work in the structure of flagship clubs for the development of youth ice hockey.
A striking example of academies' productive partnership with the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) with regional player training centres is the cooperation with the Avangard Academy in Omsk. The revival of the idea of launching the academy, as well as its implementation, belong to one of the most honored hockey top managers of the country, Vladimir Shalayev, who was the president of the Omsk club in the second half of the 2010s, as well as the chairman of the board of directors of Avangard and member of the Management Board of Gazpromneft Alexander Dybal. The academy's philosophy was based on the idea of training local young players who would subsequently be able to represent not only the club, but also the country at a high level. The implementation of this project became possible thanks to Gazprom and Gazprom Neft, alongside Avangard's communication with the RIHF and the Ministry of Sport of Russia.

The possibilities for cooperation between the RIHF and the Avangard Academy in the field of innovative and experimental activities have a number of promising areas. These include training coaches and ice hockey specialists, medical and biological developments, creation of information and digital training management systems and experimental design work on creating new models of equipment, inventory and gear.
