The President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) Vladislav Tretiak held a meeting with the Governor of Amur Region Vasily Orlov.

The parties discussed the development of sport in the region alongside prospects for strengthening the cooperation between the RIHF and Amur Region in various areas of ice hockey development. Orlov also invited Tretiak to the International Russian-Chinese Winter Sports Festival, which traditionally takes place on the Amur River. The event is scheduled for the end of February 2025, with the festival program including ice hockey matches between teams of the two countries.

- Vasily Aleksandrovich is dedicated to providing residents of Amur Region with all of the required facilities and opportunities to lead a healthy, sporting lifestyle. To our delight, new ice hockey rinks are being constructed, and specialists in the region are working in accordance with the Red Machine National Development Program. Furthermore, international projects are also very important; after all, the linking of Russia and China is a strategic priority right now. And sport – including ice hockey – are making a great contribution to strengthening the friendship between our countries. Chinese teams are interested in meeting Russian athletes, and we are ready to share our experience and tips on how to become successful in the field of ice hockey.
