The RIHF is using the Red Machine National Development Program when educating coaches
One of the priority areas for the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) is the organisation of the publication and distribution of methodological materials.
Master classes, seminars for coaches and consultations with specialists are held. The importance of these efforts is determined by the fact that the training process is constantly changing. Understanding the essence of changes and trends is a factor of readiness to adapt to new conditions, change plans, determine which skills and knowledge may become obsolete in the near future, and which will be in demand.
With regard to youth ice hockey, these changes are expressed in a significant and systematic increase in the importance of technical training. The size of young players is gradually ceasing to be a decisive factor in their competitiveness. Speed, maneuverability of skating, technical equipment, versatility of players and the ability to solve problems in an unconventional way are coming to the fore.
When planning work concerning methodological support for coaches, it's necessary to ensure proper communication, set up feedback and make the event as productive as possible. During the initial stage of the practical lesson, modern trends, innovations, their relationship with established views and approaches to organising the training process are analysed. In addition, specific examples of the implementation the Red Machine National Development Program are used. The program was developed and is being implemented by the RIHF together with the support of general partner Nornickel.
