Reaction after defeating Ak Bars

26.08.2024
Interviews were taken following Russia U23's tough 4:2 triumph over Ak Bars at the Nikolai Puchkov Tournament.

Russia U23 head coach Nikolai Voevodin:

- Both teams changed their line-ups for this game following the preceding match. I'm happy with our performance level, the guys competed with full concentration and and displayed excellent ice hockey. Every match and competition for the national team is a huge experience for our players, it's allowing them to consequently grow. SKA? It's a big motivation for everyone to compete against Saint Petersburg!

Russia U23 forward Daniil Lazutin:

- I wouldn't say that it was an easy game. In terms of their average age, Ak Bars had an even team in comparison to ours. Both sides fought for the victory. I scored the winning goal? I think that it provided all of us with a boost of motivation, not just me. Naturally, I'm happy that I managed to score. My line with Ivan Demidov and Vladislav Romanov? We played together for all of last season, so we have no problem with playing productively - even at senior level.
