Roman Rotenberg speaks after beating Belarus in Tula

09.05.2024
Roman Rotenberg, the head coach of Russia 25, spoke to the media after confidently beating Belarus 6:2 in the fourth match of the Liga Stavok Big National Team Tour.

Russia 25 head coach Roman Rotenberg:

- We had prepared seriously for this match. After we had attended the Victory Parade in the morning together, we knew that the Belarusians would have just as much motivation as us. Some of our players picked up fractures, lost teeth and received other injuries, factors which prove just how difficult this game was for our team. Yes, we've won the series, but we want to win the next game and finish the season on a positive note. We understand it won't be easy, though, the Minsk Arena will be packed out. We'll try our best in order to compete in the correct manner. It's always vital for us to win on Victory Day, so I want to thank all of our players for their efforts. I would like the referees to make sure that the sport is played cleanly, no one needs injuries!

Will Valentin Zykov and Zakhar Bardakov fly to Belarus? We'll know after they've been examined at hospital. In comparison to the preceding games, the Belarusians made an improvement today and won the battles in the opening stanza, but we subsequently took our game to the next level and got back on track. To be honest, the guys felt the pressure on playing on Victory Day in the first period, we knew that the entire country was waiting for us to win. The arena here? It's a fantastic stadium which was constructed by Gazprom as a part of the Gazprom for Children project. When we talk about arenas, the main thing is the quality of the ice and the ventilation. We have to thank the Governor of Tula Region Alexei Dyumin for this wonderful stadium.
