12.04.2024
The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF), the State Sport Museum under the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation and the Ice Hockey Museum have signed a cooperation agreement.
The agreement, which was signed in accordance with the 'We are Together. Sport' forum, allows for joint exhibitions, educational and patriotic events alongside other events associated with the achievements of Russian ice hockey.
President of the RIHF Vladislav Tretiak:
- One of the main tasks of the RIHF is to popularise our sport, increase mass participation and promote a healthy lifestyle. Domestic ice hockey possesses great history created by several generations of players and coaches. It is important that we not only be proud of our victories, but also talk about them as often as possible. As a consequence of learning about our previous triumphs, the next generation will be inspired to repeat their success.
Our Ice Hockey Museum contains plenty of interesting exhibits, each of which has its own story of victories, exploits and how to overcome difficulties. I'm happy that our cooperation with the State Sport Museum will allow more people in our country to become acquainted with the glorious history of Russian ice hockey. While looking to the future, we're also looking back and expressing our pride with regard to our previous victories.
Deputy Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation Odes Baysultanov:
- I'm confident that our cooperation will be productive and effective. Together, we will help citizens of our country learn about our ice hockey's colossal achievements.
Acting director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution State Museum of Sport Alexander Dubinin:
- We're very pleased that the State Sport Museum and the Ice Hockey Museum will work together on exhibitions. Our organisations have enormous potential! I am confident that soon we will create a truly unique exhibition which fans and ice hockey enthusiasts from all over the world will want to visit The first step has already been taken - on the 11th and 12th of April, we held a small exhibition at Gostiny Dvor dedicated to our legendary victories achieved by our national team in 1954 and 1974.
