Reaction after Russia W played Belarus U18

After playing Belarus U18 at the President's Sporting Club Cup, representatives of the senior Russian women's national team shared their emotions.

Russia W head coach Alexander Zybin:

- Belarus have plenty of technical players. We tried to follow our game plan, while the opponents liked to make combination plays with the puck at their sticks. Unfortunately, when we did have opportunities on the counter, we often made mistakes when trying to unleash shots. Darya Gredzen? She was fantastic in our net, pulling off several wonderful saves. A lot of the opponents' goals were scored after neat combination plays.

Russia W goalkeeper Darya Gredzen:

- I think that any goalkeeper would agree that it's never nice when you concede eight goals in one game. However, despite that fact, I enjoyed the challenge of facing a male team. The Belarusian players often praised me for my saves.

Russia W forward Elizaveta Rodnova:

- The opponents played like true gentlemen today, allowing us to protect possession and gain confidence. To be honest, we weren't expecting this to happen! My goal? I managed to pounce on the rebound after the goaltender had initially stopped Anna Shokhina's effort with the pads. We've been training moves like this one.
