The RIHF have confirmed the VHL's competitors

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation can now confirm which clubs will compete in the new VHL campaign. 

26 clubs will take part in the 2016/2017 VHL season:

6. Dynamo (Saint Petersburg)
7. Ermak (Angarsk)
8. Zaurale (Kurgan)
9. Zvezda (Chekhov)
10. Izhstal (Izhevsk)
11. Kristall (Saratov)
12. Molot Prikame (Perm)
13. Neftyanik (Almetevsk)
14. Rubin (Tyumen)
15. Saryarka (Karaganda)
16. SKA-Neva (Saint Petersburg)
17. Sokol (Krasnoyarsk) 
18. Sputnik (Nizhny Tagil) 
19. Toros (Neftekamsk)
20. Torpedo (Ust-Kamenogorsk)
21. THK (Tver)
22. Khimik (Voskresensk) 
23. HC Ryazan (Ryazan)
24. HC Sarov (Sarov)

This will be the first time that Dynamo Saint Petersburg have taken part in the VHL.

A regular season will be held, and then the best sixteen teams will contest the VHL playoffs.
