The VHL referees' training camp has finished
In Novogorsk, the VHL referees' training camp has finished. During the past four days, 35 referees, 42 linesmen and 25 inspectors were put through their paces with fitness tests, ice trainings and theory lessons.
The VHL refereeing chief Sergei Semyonov:
- We are satisfied with this camp. The Cooper Test took place this year, and this was a great way of assessing the referees' physical state. With only a few exceptions, everyone is in great shape. We know who will work over pre-season tournaments, who will hold seminars concerning rules for clubs, and who will come up with a presentation with detailed analysis of certain match moments which was developed by Alexander Polyakov, the head of the RIHF refereeing training centre. This year, 10 VHL referees have receieved the opportunity to work in the KHL, and as a result we invited 24 new referees to this training process - 10 head referees and 14 linesmen. Also, ex referees Ilshat Kadyrov, Maxim Manin, Alexander Taranov and Anton Yurkin have finished their careers, and will now work as inspectors.
