Russia U16 head coach Vladimir Filatov:
- At the end of the game, there was a fight, but it wasn't a serious one. Our players were left playing a five on three, and after the opponents crashed into our goalkeeper, the guys stuck up for him. There was a twenty second brawl, and then the referees broke it up.
The Czechs are a lot stronger than Austria and Slovakia. However, they weren't stronger than us. We could have won with a larger scoreline - six times we were one on one, but couldn't find the net. I think that this is down to their young age. As national team coaches, we should help them with this.
I want to thank the guys for playing with real committment and taking pucks. The fact that they are prepared to block shots with their bodies speaks volumes about their character. The players will now return to their clubs, and we will keep an eye on how they perform.
