12.08.2023
In Omsk, president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretiak held a meeting with the governor of Omsk Region Vitaly Khotsenko, discussing the development of ice hockey and other sports in the region.

President of the RIHF Vladislav Tretiak:

- People in Omsk Region love sport and promote a healthy lifestyle. During our conversation with the governor of the region, we discussed a number of important issues related to the sporting sector. Vitaly thanked the RIHF and me personally for helping ice hockey in Omsk and constructing the new arena in the city.

Omsk Region has always been hugely important for Russian ice hockey. Over the years, a number of Omsk natives have won the Olympic Games and the World Championship. One of the most important aspects of progress is the improvement of infrastructure. There are 32 district centres in the region, and 10 already have indoor ice rinks. The governor promised that in the next five years such ice rinks will appear in all other regional centres.

Events such as the opening of the Olympic Alley are also very important. Firstly, we appreciate the successes and achievements of the athletes who have displayed lots of dedication to achieve glory for our country. Secondly, we are setting an excellent example for our youth.
