Reaction after playing Sochi

Following the first match of the 2023 Liga Stavok Sochi Hockey Open, Russia 23 head coach Nikolai Voevodin shared his thoughts.

Russia 23 head coach Nikolai Voevodin:

- It was a good performance from our team. I was impressed with how we competed during the opening two periods, we held the initiative and created promising scoring opportunities. The guys were a bit nervous, though, and they didn't want to take the initiative when presented with chances to score. Nevertheless, they all gave 100% and played a great team game.

We only had two training sessions before this match, but we managed to show our players what we expect to see on the ice. We tried to put those who play at club level together in one line. Taking into account that all of the guys in our team are young, we want to play attack-minded, exciting ice hockey. Even though we lost, I am satisfied with the match.
