Reaction after defeating Belarus U16
07.06.2023
Following the 8:0 triumph over Belarus in the maiden game of the Sirius Cup, head coach of the under 16 Russian national team Pavel Kanarsky shared his emotions:
Russia U16 head coach Pavel Kanarsky:
- It's always nice to win. Our guys felt a bit tense during the first period, the occasion seemed to get to them. However, they still managed to tally the opening marker and they subsequently began to play the type of ice hockey which we expect from them. Our goal for the competition? We want to win it! Furthermore, it's also very important for us coaches to see what these players are capable of during a tournament. There's a positive atmosphere within the team. As a consequence of making sure that the guys aren't sitting with their club teammates, we've seen that they're all talking with each other and are in great relations. This is how you build a team.
