Vladislav Tretiak, the president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF), held an open training session in Ulyanovsk as a part of the "Strength of Russia" project organised by United Russia.

The project is seeing plenty of well-known Russian athletes stage open trainings across the country.

Tretiak - a three-time Olympic champion and a 10-time world champion - coached 50 children on the ice from different regions.

RIHF president Vladislav Tretiak:

- I would like to extend a big thank you to the United Russia party for organising this excellent events, they're providing the participating children with unforgettable emotions. When you are being coached by an Olympic and world champion, you immediately train with even more desire than usual. Sport revolves around being a team, and we are all in Russia's team, the president's team. One of our main tasks is to ensure that our youth will grow up to be healthy, strong and disciplined. We want them to respect their elders, hard work and their homeland.
