Interviews following the Russia U20 Reds win against Belarus U20
27.05.2023
Following the first match against the under 20 Belarusian national team at the Liga Stavok Cup of the Future, representatives of the Russia U20 Reds shared their thoughts:
Russia U20 Reds head coach Oleg Bratash:
- The fact that our guys had prepared excellently for the match allowed us to emerge victorious. However, I certainly wouldn't say that it was an easy win for us. Our three-goal advantage allowed us to feel good psychologically and compete with confidence. The players play in accordance with different systems for their respective clubs, but here they all compete with the national team style.
Russia U20 Reds forward Kirill Dolzhenkov:
- The opponents provided us with a stern challenge, but we managed to quickly score a few goals and open up a commanding advantage. After that, we subsequently followed the game plan and tried to compete solidly in defence. The key was our performance in the second stanza.
Russia U20 Reds forward Ivan Yanchenko:
- We competed with lots of energy in the maiden two frames, but we were lacking it in the third. Nonetheless, we managed to see the match out and we will now prepare for the next one. Will the next game against Belarus U21 be crucial for me? Well, I was born here, and my father actually works with the under 21 Belarusian national team! I will do my best in order to beat his team.
