Interviews after playing Finland at the Karjala Cup

04.11.2016

Oleg Znarok, Russian national team head coach:

- The guys stuck to the game plan and did a good job. When working with young players, you feel their energy. I am satisfied with the defensive performance, we only conceded one goal. I don't think that this roster is weaker than SKA, these players are the leading figures in their clubs. Tomorrow we will analyse Sweden.

- Why was Andrei Mironov selected captain?

- The coaches took this decision. I think that Andrei Mironov, Valery Nichushkin and Stepan Sannikov are the most experienced in this team.

Anatoly Golyshev, Russian national team forward:

- We all fought hard. This was the first time that I played in one line with Valery Nichushkin, but we know each other since childhood. The CSKA players told me what to do in the line, thanks to them.

- There were some bust ups with Finland.

- It's ice hockey.

- What feelings do you have from being part of such a young team?

- It's great! I have really positive emotions, there's an excellent atmosphere within the group.

Vladimir Tkachyov, Russian national team forward:

- It's good that we scored a lot of goals. When I scored, I wanted to make a pass, but the defenseman blocked me. Finland lost their way after our second and third goals. One line was fantastic today.

- Is there euphoria in the dressing room?

- No, this was only one match. Our goal is to continue winning. The organisation here is at the highest level.

- How is it playing in your line?

- Not everything went well, but this was the first game. I think that we will improve.

- Before the match, Ak Bars teammate Ahte Ohtamaa stated that you won't score. Did you speak after the match?

- Yes, I replied to him with my goal!
