Czech Republic - Russia. A statistical look

This was the Russia's sixth victory at the Karjala Cup. Also, this was the first time that the team won all three games in regulation. In 2006. 2008 and 2011, one of the three triumphs was achieved in the penalty shootout.

Eleven goals were scored by our players at the competition.

Only in 2008 did Russia concede less than three goals.

Russia and the Czech Republic have played against each other on 300 occasions. Overall, our team has 169 victories, 33 games ended in a draw and the Czechs boast 98 wins of their own. The goal difference is 980 - 764 in Russia's favour.

Defenseman Alexei Bereglazov netted his first Russian national team goal. 

Just like against Sweden on Saturday, the winning goal was scored shorthanded. Before this year's competition, Russia had found the net a player down only two times in 20 years.

Andrei Mironov has competed in 20 national team games. So far, he has two points (0+2).

Forward Valery Nichushkin has made 10 Russia appearances, taking seven points (2+5).

In 13 games, Nikita Gusev has an impressive 10 points for Russia (4+6).

Ilya Sorokin became the 12th Russian goaltender to tally up a shutout in the Euro Hockey Tour.

At 21 years of age, Konstantin Okulov made his senior national team debut.
