Interviews after the second CIBC Canada Russia Series match

09.11.2016

Valery Bragin, Russia U20 head coach:

- After the first two periods, the game depended on the next goal. We made a mistake in not seeing where the Canadian defenseman was skating from. When they scored their third on the counterattack, the game was pretty much over.

- Was the team lacking energy in the final moments?

- We tried to score right up until the last seconds, we had some chances on the powerplay and at full strength. If we could have scored the second goal, we could have had a chance.

- Vladislav Sukhachyov was twice pulled because of problems with his skates.

- His skate was broken, we couldn't do anything about it. These things happen.

- Sum up the two matches with the WHL.

- We have seen all of the players which we wanted to.

Danila Kvartalnov, Russia U20 forward:

- The arena is great. The jumbotron closes half of the rink off. If there would have been a sellout, it would have been really loud.

- This was already your second goal of the series?

- My teammates are picking me out with excellent passes. It's good that I am scoring.

- Why did you concede three goals in the third period?

- Maybe the tiredness took its toll. We needed to turn our heads with more intensity, we let them have two goals when their defensemen joined the rush.
