RIHF statement on Andrei Mironov

In the press, there have been words spoken about Russian national team defenseman Andrei Mironov's injury. The Russian Ice Hockey Federation states that Andrei performed at a high level during the Karjala Cup, was helpful to the team and made a large contribution to the victory.

Russia's captain for the competition got injured during the final game after his hand was slashed. He was give medical treatment very quickly as well as reccomendations concerning further recovery. When abroad, all Russian national team players are covered by health insurance, and in Russia the players will be treated by the FMBA. After consulting the team's doctor, Andrei Mironov was told to continue healing from the injury with his club HC Dynamo Moscow.

The statement that Andrei Mironov was not given help by qualified doctors in the team does not hold any truth. The RIHF points out that all federations and clubs have the same goal - to develop Russian ice hockey. The RIHF is always open for dialogue and is ready to show all needed information to those who require it.
