Sergei Makarov has been included in the NHL Hall of Fame

Two time Olympic champion Sergei Makarov has been introduced into the NHL Hall of Fame. After Vladislav Tretyak, Valery Kharlamov, Vyacheslav Fetisov, Igor Larionov, Pavel Bure and Sergei Fyodorov, Sergei is the seventh Russian to join the Hall of Fame in the NHL.

Netting 714 goals for the national team and in the NHL, Sergei holds the record for goals scored by a Russian player, 

During his playing career in Russia, Sergei competed for both Traktor Chelyabinsk and HC CSKA Moscow. In the NHL, he played with the Calgary Flames (1989-1993), San Jose Sharks (1993-1995) and the Dallas Stars (1997).

Overall, Sergei Makarov won the Olympic Games in 1984 and 1988 and became an Olympic silver medalist in 1980. Became a champion of the USSR championship on eight occasions.
