Canada Russia Series. Russia U20 - Team OHL

14.11.2016

The under 20 Russian national team are preparing for the fourth match of the CIBC Canada Russia Series against Team OHL.

Traditionally, the fourth game of the Super Series is the most difficult. Indeed, out of thirteen matches, Russia have only won once - that came in 2013 when 50 Ivan Nalimov saves guided the team to a 3:2 penalty shootout win. During this long break, the Canadian players have had an advantage - while Russia's players have been resting, they have been playing for their respective OHL clubs.

Russia U20 defenseman Alexander Schemerov:

- The statistics show that the fourth match doesn't go well for us, but I wouldn't say that it differs from other matches. In this series, there are no easy games. Also, I don't agree with the opinion that the break has knocked us out of shape.  We've had time to regroup and work over issues.

It will be a tough match tomorrow, it's key. Nevertheless, I don't think that the tone of the game will change. We will give our all.

Training line-up:

Goalkeepers: K. Volkov, Krasotkin, Sukhachyov.

Reds: Y. Zaitsev, Petrischev - Al. Volkov, Kvartalnov, Urakov;

Whites: Fazylzyanov, Dronov - Yurtaikin, Alexeev, Kirkunenko;

Greens: Chmykhov, Schemerov - Li, Belyaev, Dynyak;

Blues: Fatkullin, Ar. Volkov - Kostin, Rubtsov, Karnaukhov.
