THE RUSSIAN ICE HOCKEY FEDERATION (RIHF) IS AN ALL-RUSSIAN PUBLIC ASSOCIATION
The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) is an All-Russian public association established for the development and popularization of ice hockey in the Russian Federation, enhancing its role in the comprehensive and harmonious development of the individual, health promotion, and formation of a healthy lifestyle among the population.
The RIHF is a Full-Member National Association of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) and it promotes the interests of Russian hockey in international hockey organizations.
THE RIHF EXERCISES ITS ACTIVITIES ON THE TERRITORY OF 70 SUBJECTS OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
All hockey competitions in the territory of our country are held under the aegis of the RIHF. Among them are the Championship of Russia, the Russian Women's Championship, the Russian championships with the participation of junior national teams and junior club teams. According to the Federal Law of the Russian Federation on Physical Culture and Sport (Article 8), "all the rights to conduct official championships of Russia belong to the Federation "The RIHF".All Russian National ice hockey teams act under the jurisdiction of the RIHF

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (FHR) is an all-Russian public association created for the development and popularization of hockey in the Russian Federation, enhancing its role in the comprehensive and harmonious development of the individual, promoting health, and creating a healthy lifestyle for the population.
FHR is a member of the International Hockey Federation (IIHF) and represents the interests of Russian hockey in international hockey organizations.
THE RIHF IS CONSTANTLY IMPROVING THE ELITE ATHLETES DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM
The RIHF is constantly improving its system for development of elithe ice hockey players, ensuring preparation of Russian national and club teams for participation in international competitions. The RIHF carries out selection and appointment of national teams’ coaching staff. The RIHF organizes training, follow-up training and attestation for ice hockey coaches , referees and other hockey specialists. The work of the Coaching Higher School has been resumed. The fruitful cooperation has been established between the Federation and Russian sports universities. The RIHF assists in the organizing scientific research in the field of theory and methodology of ice hockey, as well as in methodological literature publishing .
RIHF BRANCHES
The RIHF pays special attention to the development, popularization and promotion of ice hockey within the federal subjects of the Russian Federation, increasing its role in the comprehensive and harmonious development of individualsand formation of a healthy lifestyle among the population , providing practical and methodological assistance to regional ice hockey centers, clubs, youth sports schools and physical culture institutions in the regions of Russia that have expressed a desire to promote hockey.
In order to provide organizational and methodological support for the interaction between regional sports federations, to facilitate organization and holding of inter-regional competitions, as well as to address other issues related to ice hockey development at regional level the RIHF opened its branches in Leningrad and Moscow regions, as well as in Samara, Ekaterinburg, Khabarovsk, Novosibirsk and Sochi.
FEDERATION WORKS ON CREATING CONDITIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF SPECIALIZED SPORTS FACILITIES
The Federation is working on creating conditions for the construction and maintenance of specialized sports facilities, the development of the material and technical base of hockey clubs, children's and youth sports schools, as well as physical culture institutions. In recent years, new ice palaces have been opened in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Kazan, Omsk, Cherepovets, Togliatti, Khabarovsk, Belgorod, Podolsk, Odintsovo, Chekhov, Dmitrov, Klin, Sarov, Volzhsk, Bugulma. The next step is the construction of large hockey arenas in other cities of Russia.
