Interviews after the World Junior Championship match with Canada

27.12.2016

Russia U20 head coach Valery Bragin:

- For a lot of the players, this is the first World Championship. It's even harder in Canada in front of such fans. Nevertheless, we will analyse our mistakes and keep on working. We have to improve with every match.

The players fought until the end. We had chances to score even more goals, three or five of them. The whole tournament is ahead of us though, the main thing is to recover in time for the game with Latvia. Who will play in goal? I don't know yet.

Russia U20 forward Kirill Kaprizov:

- It's a shame that we lost. However, more games are coming up in the group stage. We can't make similar mistakes in the future. Unfortunately, we took silly penalties and we should move out from our own zone quicker.

Russia U20 defenseman Mikhail Sergachyov:

- I think that Canada won the one on one battles. We took penalties and failed to kill them off. In the first two periods, we didn't shoot enough, we didn't support each other in attack. It's bad to lose against Canada away, especially with this score. The tournament continues though, we can't think about this game anymore. We want to qualify for the next stage in a good position.
