17.02.2026
Vladislav Tretiak, the President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF), held a meeting with Magomed Mintsaev, the President of the Chechen Ice Hockey Federation, and the Vice President of the same organisation, Zakir Bibulatov.
The discussion focused on the development of ice hockey, the construction of sporting infrastructure and the development of the region's youth players.
RIHF President Vladislav Tretiak:
"The Republic of Chechnya is paying serious attention to the development of our sport! We can clearly see their enthusiasm and desire to progress. We plan to open a new ice rink with excellent training facilities and establish a vertical ice hockey system for the youth. The RIHF always welcomes efforts made by different regions of the country which want to progress, and we're hopeful that our efforts concerning the creation of new teams and sports schools will be productive. Of course, we will provide full assistance to the republic with methodological support, consultations with experienced specialists, expertise, master classes and the implementation of the workings of the Red Machine National Development Program.
"The prospects for the development of ice hockey in the Chechen Republic are promising. Chechens are known for their competitiveness, fortitude and desire to be the best. All of these qualities contribute to sporting success. Young people in the region really do have huge potential! And, to our delight, we've seen that the governing body here operates with professionalism and desire. We hope to see serious interest in our national sport in Chechnya. The emergence of another growth and development hub for Russian ice hockey is a fantastic thing."
