In a friendly match ahead of the upcoming Liga Stavok Cup of the Future, the under 20 Russian national team defeated the under 18 Russian national side by a score of 4:2 in Novogorsk.

Following the game, a goalless overtime period was held, before Russia U20 subsequently won the ensuing penalty shootout 3:1.

On November 12, both teams will make the trip to Saint Petersburg for the competition.
