Russia U20 train in Canada

19.12.2021
The under 20 Russian national team held a training session on the ice in Edmonton, Canada following the completion of the quarantine period.

At first, Russia had planned to participate in two friendly matches in preparation for the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship, but it's been confirmed that only one game can be staged as a result of the COVID-19 situation. Details concerning the schedule for friendly matches will be released later.

Russia U20 head coach Sergei Zubov:

- After almost three days in quarantine, it was great to leave our hotel rooms and get together again. Initially, it was tough for the guys on the ice, but they began to feel better towards the end of the training session. They had a lot of energy after not being able to train. Unfortunately, we can only play one friendly game as a consequence of the pandemic, but all teams are in the same boat. Let's see who we can play against.

Russia U20 forward Dmitry Zlodeev:

- All of us feel great after training again! During the quarantine period, we trained in our rooms and spent our free time by watching films and reading books. Of course, I am really enjoying the experience of being here, but I am trying only to think about the training process.
