2021 World Championship. Switzerland - Russia. A statistical look

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation takes a look at the statistics to emerge from the senior national team's 4:1 victory against Switzerland at the 2021 IIHF World Championship in Riga, Latvia:

- Forward Pavel Karnaukhov scored Russia's 150th goal against Switzerland in 40 matches. The goal difference in games between the two nations in question is now +76 (152-76) in the Russians' favour;

- Defenseman Nikita Nesterov has picked up 16 (7+9) points in 50 matches for the senior Russian national team;

- Forwards Pavel Karnaukhov (3+4) and Artyom Shvets-Rogovoi (1+1) both made their 15th appearance for the senior national team;

- With goalkeeper Alexander Samonov in net, Russia have picked up 10 victories (8 regulation, 2 penalty shootouts) from 17 matches;

- In 33 World Championship games, forward Alexander Barabanov has registered 20 (7+13) points. He is the 20th Russian player to earn a minimum of 20 World Championship points;

- Fellow forward Emil Galimov tallied his maiden World Championship point;

- Thanks to his two goals and one assist, forward Sergei Tolchinsky set a new personal record with the senior Russian national team concerning the amount of points in one match.
