The under 18 Russian national team conceded a disappointing 3:4 defeat to Sweden in overtime in the 2019 IIHF World Championship final.

This is Russia's best achievement in the competition for 10 years.

Vasily Podkolzin, Rodion Amirov and Maxim Groshev scored three goals for the Russians after initially going 0:2 down, but in the ensuing extra frame, the Swedes securing their victory.
