On 6 May, before the match between Russia and Belarus as a part of the Liga Stavok National Team Tour, the Governor of the Samara Region Vyacheslav Fedorishchev and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Poliplast company Alexander Shamsutdinov signed a cooperation agreement.
The document provides for support of both youth and professional ice hockey in the region. The honourary guest of the signing ceremony was Vladislav Tretiak, the President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation. Tretiak spoke about the importance of such agreements, emphasising the beneficial trend of involving big business in the development of Russian ice hockey.
