The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) actively participated in the 18th All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference of Modern Problems of Ice Hockey Theory and Methodology and Technologies of Control and Management of Sporting Training.
The event was staged in Saint Petersburg, a city which boasts teams in the Kontinental Hockey League, All-Russian Hockey League and Junior Hockey League. The conference brought together specialists from various fields such as sports medicine, psychology, sociology and computer science. The leading role in organising the conference was taken by the Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health.
Furthermore, the Russian Ministry of Sport and the Nikolai Puchkov Coaching Ice Hockey Academy also organised the conference.
International participants were the staff of the Department of Football and Ice Hockey of the Belarusian State University of Physical Education. Their participation made a valuable contribution to the discussion of modern trends concerning the coaching of players and the introduction of advanced technologies in the training process.
During the conference, special attention was paid to the issues of improving the system of coaching players directly from youth level. Representatives of the RIHF presented reports with regard to organisation of the training process and monitoring methods. Special emphasis was placed on research conducted within the framework of the Red Machine National Development Program, which was developed together with the support of general partner Nornickel. These studies confirm the effectiveness of the introduction of uniform methodological standards which ensure the development of ice hockey in Russia.
