Ilya Vorobyov: "We aren't choosing our opponents"

23.05.2019
Senior Russian national team head coach Ilya Vorobyov spoke about the 4;3 victory against the USA in the quarter-finals of the 2019 IIHF World Championship:

- Patrick Kane is a good, strong player, but the main thing is that we managed to win. In these matches at this level, everything can change within a second. We had also seen that against Sweden. The Americans continued waiting for counterattack opportunities even when they were 0:2 down. The challenge for the third American goal? We knew that there was a chance the referees would disallow it. Our opponents in the semi-final? We aren't going to choose who we play against. Alexander Ovechkin landed a great hit in this match. We will continue improving.
