09.05.2019
On May 9, in connection with Victory Day, the senior Russian national team visited the Slavin War Memorial in Slovakia which is dedicated to those who fought in the Great Patriotic War between 1941 and 1945.

Players, coaches and the management all participated in the ceremony, alongside Russian Federation Ambassador for Slovakia Andrei Shabanov, veterans and media representatives.

First Russian Ice Hockey Federation vice-president, team leader Roman Rotenberg:

- This celebration is hugely important for our country. The victory in the Great Patriotic War was a key moment in Russian history. We will remember all those who fought on behalf of our country and battled for our freedom and peace. Every year on the 9th of May, we lay flowers at a war memorial dedicated to our veterans. For our team, this event is very important, and they are here because of their own will. I congratulate all Russians with Victory Day!
