In 214 World Championship matches, the Russian national team have earned 150 victories with 142 of them coming in regulation time. The remaining eight were split between overtime and penalty shootouts.

Russia have won 10 of the past 11 World Championship matches against Switzerland, with one game finishing in a draw.

13 Russian players have made their World Championship debuts at this edition of the competition. However, the record of 14 was set at the 2006 tournament.

Pavel Datsyuk has made 67 assists at World Championships. Only Vadim Shipachyov (70) and Ilya Kovalchuk (80) own more. During his career, Pavel boasts 97 (30+67) Russian national team points.

In 90 Russian national team games, fellow forward Evgeny Dadonov has 64 (23+41) points to his name. 45 of those matches have come at World Championships, where he has taken 40 (15+25) points.

Alexei Bereglazov has five (1+4) points from 25 Russian national team matches.

Pavel Buchnevich made his 15th Russia appearance.

Yegor Yakovlev has now played in 25 World Championship matches, while Sergei Andronov, Alexander Barabanov and Bogdan Kiselevich have competed in 15.

In 24 Russian national team matches, defenseman Nikita Nesterov has 10 (5+5) points.
