Channel One Cup. Russia - Kazakhstan
15.12.2024
The concluding day of the 2024 Channel One Cup will begin with the Russian national team hosting Kazakhstan.
Our players are perfect at the tournament so far, having confidently defeated the KHL World Team 4:1 in the opener before subsequently edging past Belarus by a score of 4:3 in overtime. Evgeny Kuznetsov was the hero in the latter game when converting a 1-on-1 chance in the extra frame.
It's been a somewhat different story for the Kazakhs at the competition, who have conceded two 1:3 losses to both the Belarusians and the KHL World Team respectively.
Here is our squad for the competition:
Goalkeepers: Ilya Nabokov (Metallurg Magnitogorsk), Artemiy Pleshkov (SKA), Vladislav Podyapolsky (Lada).
Defensemen: Alexander Nikishin, Danila Galenyuk, Nikita Smirnov, Arseniy Koromyslov, Timur Kol (all SKA), Ilya Karpukhin (Traktor), Bogdan Konyushkov (Torpedo), Dmitry Simashev, Alexander Yelesin (both Lokomotiv), Mikhail Gulyayev (Avangard), Magomed Sharakanov (Lada).
Forwards: Evgeny Kuznetsov, Marat Khairullin, Arseniy Gritsyuk, Mikhail Grigorenko, Sergei Plotnikov, Grigory Kuzmin, Vasily Glotov, Nikolai Polyakov, Ivan Demidov (all SKA), Nikita Korostelyov, Danil Aimurzin (both Severstal), Ilya Safonov (Ak Bars), Mikhail Kotlyarevsky (Traktor), Vitaly Abramov, Maxim Sorkin, Prokhor Poltapov, Ruslan Iskhakov (all CSKA), Maxim Dzhioshvili (Dynamo Moscow).
Puck-drop is scheduled for 14:00 local time in Saint Petersburg. Channel One will provide a live television broadcast in Russia and on its official website.
