The U18 Russian and Belarusian teams will compete in the first match at the Sibir Arena

On the 13th of August, the grand opening ceremony of the new Sibir Arena will take place in Novosibirsk.
The occasion will be marked by a friendly match between the under 18 Russian and Belarusian national teams, which is being organised by the Russian Ice Hockey Federation.
The arena, which boasts a capacity of 10,587 and was constructed in accordance with all of the latest demands and standards, will form the home stadium of Kontinental Hockey League club Sibir Novosibirsk. Originally, the venue was constructed with the 2023 World Junior Championship in mind, but Russia was subsequently stripped of the right to host the competition.
