Four Nations. Germany W - Russia W - 3:7

The women's Russian national team played their first match of the Four Nations in Germany against their hosts.

It was a tough opening to the game for our girls, as after Lyudmila Belyakova opened the scoring, Germany came back with two goals of their own. However, Russia came roaring back, and markers from Elena Dergachyova and Yekaterina Smolentseva gave the team the lead in the second period.

Further goals by Elena Dergachyova and Lyudmila Belyakova increased the advantage, and despite the Germans netting a reply, Anna Shokhina and Galina Skiba iced the match late on to seal a 7:3 Russia victory!
