Coaching seminar at the World Hockey Forum
At the World Hockey Forum, a coaching seminar took place between 100 coaches. 100 of them work with children's teams, while the remaining 20 work in KHL, VHL, MHL and NMHL clubs.
Alexei Yashin, Igor Kravchuk, honoured USSR and Russian ice hockey coach Vladimir Yurzinov, HC CSKA Moscow general manager Sergei Fyodorov, founder of the Ochsner ice hockey academy Sebastian Schumacher, the chairman of the Finnish ice hockey goalkeeping preparation department, the creator of the Danish ice hockey development program, HC Lokomotiv children's development coach and one of HC Kunlun Red Star's coaches all gave speeches.
The seminar's main topic was the training of young players. A lot of attention was put on to individual training of players preparing to jump up into professional ice hockey. Also, matters surronding attracting coaches from figure skating, martial arts, basketball, acrobatics, handball and more. Igor Kravchuk, Alexei Yashin and Sergei Fyodorov shared their experiences from playing in the NHL.
This is the RIHF's second coaching seminar this season. The first took place in November.
