Alexander Gorshkov has passed away

Alexander Gorshkov, a famous Soviet figure skater who won the Olympic Games in 1976 and the World and European Championship on six occasions, has sadly passed away at the age of 76.
He became the president of the Russian Figure Skating Federation in 2010.
The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) extends its sincere condolences to Alexander's family and friends.
President of the RIHF Vladislav Tretiak:
- A true great athlete and a wise leader has departed us. Alexander dedicated his entire life to figure skating, achieving glorious victories himself before subsequently helping others to do the same. His death is a huge loss for the whole of Russian sport. On behalf of the RIHF and myself personally, I would like to pass on my deep condolences to his loved ones.
