Vladislav Tretiak opened a new ice rink in Grozny

President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) Vladislav Tretiak visited Grozny, the capital of the Republic of Chechnya, where the grand opening of an indoor ice rink took place at the State Oil University. Tretiak participated in the opening ceremony and presented the Chechen hosts with a USSR national team jersey with his number and autographs of ice hockey legends.

- Sport unites people, this is how we can educate disciplined and healthy citizens. I would like to thank the leadership and the residents of the Chechen Republic for their contribution to the creation of ice hockey infrastructure and their desire to help our sport develop. I hope that the popularity of ice hockey will continue to grow in Grozny. When the required facilities are created, strong ice hockey players come about. We hope that future stars of our sport will take their first ice hockey steps at this new arena!
