Coaching seminar in Kaluga Region
On the 21st and 22nd of February, a coaching seminar took place in the Kaluga Region town of Obninsk. The main topic was specialities concerning training of young players. 29 coaches were present.
This event was held in line with the aim of increasing Russian ice hockey coaches' qualifications. Russian Ice Hockey Federation specialists assisted the coaches who were takina part. Alongside classroom activites, the coaches also worked out on the ice. Anatoly Bukatin, the head of the scientific-methodical department, leaded the theory sessions. Russian Ice Hockey Federation specialists Konstantin Rachkov and Vladislav Krutskikh organised the on ice trainings which involved both outfield players and goalkeepers. The coaches were shown modern methods of training young players, as well as puck possession technicalities and specified technical work for netminders. Theory lessons concerning the organisation and holding of training sessions was headed by the RIHF's main scientific-methodical department figure Dmitry Polyanchikov. He also looked over current issues involving fouls at children's ice hockey level.
Seminars with RIHF representatives have been held regularly during the course of this season.
