05.06.2022
Between the 12th and 14th of June, the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) and Liga Stavok will hold the 3-on-3 RIHF Championship.
This new format of ice hockey is rapidly gaining popularity across the world with its dynamic, attack-minded approach.
16 teams consisting of professional players from the NHL, KHL and VHL players will participate in the tournament across the three days. The schedule and participant list will be revealed at a later date.
A grand total of 64 matches will be staged. Eight teams will advance from the group stage to the knockout phase.
The Liga Stavok Cup and a monetary prize of 5,000,000 rubles will be awarded to the competition winners.
Three skaters and one goalkeeper can be on the ice for one team during games. Seven (five skaters and two goalkeepers) must be included in the line-up. Matches will consist of three periods lasting seven minutes each (actual playing time), with the breaks taking two minutes. If a game ends in a draw after three frames, a penalty shootout will be required to determine the winner. Matches are played without hits, icing calls and offsides. Penalty shots will be awarded when a foul is committed.
The tournament will be shown online at fhr.ru and on the Start and Khokkeyniy (Trikolor TV) television channels in Russia.
